Safeguarding - some frequently asked questions
- Every Parish must have a Safeguarding Officer and Lead Recruiter (DBS administration)
- DBS’s are valid for 5 years in this diocese
- Training is valid for 3 years
- We are awaiting guidance form The National Church regarding DBS requirements for all PCC Trustees
- Currently PCC Trustees with a particular responsibility for safeguarding are eligible for a DBS
- Churchwardens must have a current DBS and C0 Basic and C1 Foundation training
- Licensed Readers must have a current DBS and C0 Basic/C1 Foundation /C2 Leadership training
- Readers with PTO must currently have a DBS and C0 Basic/C1 Foundation training
- Permission to Officiate Clergy must have a valid PTO certificate/C0 Basic/C1 Foundation training
