The churchyards are being kept in good order, but we need to make sure that the groundsmen can get around to cut the grass without any obstacles. There should be no items on the grave space. Any items which are to be placed in front of the headstone, must be authorised by the priest-in-charge, including vases, plants etc.
Over the next few weeks, we will be removing items which have not been authorised, or contacting families to remove certain items which have been left. As the warmer weather approaches, we need to ensure that no glass vases, jars or containers are placed in the graveyard as this could start fires on dry grass in summer months.
